equal access and email authed user accts

Thing is, this is a public library. Not everyone would know how to 
create an account. I'd thought earlier, just have people make something 
up, like joe.shmoe at this.that. That approach has its own problems, too. 
But perhaps something like that might work; don't know enough details to 
make that judgment, let alone recommendation.
