SharePoint is a good document management system. It doesn't do well as a CMS. I used it in a previous job in Alaska and it was not a good experience.
Joomla, along with Drupal and WordPress, are popular CMS tools and are widely used in libraries. Joomla has a way to connect with SharePoint. I don't have any experience with this tool, but it looks promising.

What are you trying to accomplish by using SharePoint with your website? Maybe there’s another, better way.

I have had direct experience with trying to use SharePoint as a CMS. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and avoid doing so it at all possible.
