What do you use to limit public access to your Win7 PCs? [x-post from code4lib]

We use a 4 level system. Assuming you are using a web filter to eliminate
scary sites and some kind of reservation system to limit session length
which are our first and second levels, we use both something like Steady
State - a product called Smart Shield, along with Smart Control (management
console), by Centurion, AND we severely limit what the public account can do
- like no menu selections for Restart or Shut Down, no items on the Start
menu except what you want them to use, no access to Run (cmd.exe or
regedit.exe, etc.). This is easier if you use Active Directory; but if not,
it can still be done at each individual computer by editing Group Policy. I
did some of that in regedit.exe

We run a mixed house, XP and Win 7; and it seems to work well on both. The
only downside is that making adjustments to the build and updates is
cumbersome; but you probably noticed that with Steady State as well.
