The shared hosting on GoDaddy is using MySQL 5.0 with no announced plan to upgrade. If your apps require MySQL 5.1 and above, you should also avoid GoDaddy.

Run a Google image search for GoDaddy, and then maybe don't use them.  No other hosting provider is going to have exposed nipple in the search results.  GoDaddy sometimes does even when safe search is on.  That and the elephant killing video.  Yeah, classy.
