I've used a program to convert Windows Media Files that I've downloaded
to Itunes compatible files. It's a free, third party program available
at the Apple website. I'm not sure if this is the exact one I have on my
Mac, but it looks like it would accomplish the same goal.

Sounds like you're really expecting a lot from your user. I'd give 'em
a star if any of them accomplished the task.

Hello,

I was wondering what handheld devices libraries have purchased so patrons can download ebooks and view them? It has to be something reasonably priced that works well. Any information about the luck you have had with these types of devices would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

hi web4lib community,

have you read an interesting book recently that you'd like to tell others
about? i'm curious to try creating some video book reviews using the sightspeed
videoconferencing software, where i'd ask some general questions about the book
and why you liked it.

sightspeed software is free. the pro version of sightspeed (which costs
$5/month or $49/year) lets you record your videoconference to hard drive --
which you can then post on the web. i have the pro version of the software.

this is what recorded videoconferences look like.

 and

i'd also love to try doing a book panel discussion -- with four people in
different states -- using this software. best as i can tell, sightspeed is able
to record this kind of video, too.

if you'd be interested in trying this, thanks for sending me an email
off-list. i do most of such experimenting on weekends, but i sometimes have free
time weekday mornings -- or weekday evenings.
