Netspeed 2005 – Call for Session Proposals, Topics & Speakers

Planning for Netspeed 2005 is underway.

The Alberta Library’s Netspeed 2005 Program Advisory Team invites proposals
for sessions/topics/speakers at this year's conference to be held October
19-21 in Edmonton.

Netspeed is an annual library technology conference that provides an
opportunity for library and technical staff, as well trustees, to keep pace
with evolving technologies. For information on past Netspeed conferences,
visit The Alberta Library’s web site at
http://www.thealbertalibrary.ab.ca/netspeed/index.html .

If you have a suggestion for a technology related topic or speaker for a
keynote or breakout speaker, please contact Isobel Rancier via e-mail at
irancier at thealbertalibrary.ab.ca or phone 780-414-0805, ext.230

If you are interested in presenting a session at Netspeed, please submit a
session proposal, according to the guidelines below.

Session proposal guidelines:

In keeping with the conference’s technology theme, the content of all
sessions must have a technology focus. The conference aims to present
information and issues of interest to all libraries, as well as sessions of
interest to particular groups within the library community. The
technological expertise of Netspeed delegates ranges from beginner to
advanced and presenters should include in their abstract a note about the
target audience for their session.

Sessions are one hour and 15 minutes in length. Presenters are encouraged
to allow time for discussion and/or questions.

Proposals may be sent as an email attachment, via fax or as hard copy and
must include the following three components:

      1) Session Description/Abstract: maximum of 150 words, and should
      include a title.

      2) Name of Presenter(s): list each presenter and include the
following information for each person: position title and
organization; postal, email and URL addresses, and telephone and fax
numbers. Include a biographical sketch for each person of up to 250
      words.

      3) Referees: names and contact details of two referees.
