PCL XL error

Chris,

I found a few things on <http://groups.google.com> about PCL XL errors.
Seems most solutions suggest getting new drivers. SetLineDash is a Java-pdf
term
<http://big.faceless.org/products/pdf/docs/api/org/faceless/pdf/PDFStyle.htm
l#setLineDash(int,%20int,%20int)> that dictates how a dashed line displays.
So it may be that the Web pages contain some pdf code that your printer
can't handle? My first, apparently wrong, thought was that the pages
contained the Nimda virus and the browser was sending that code to your
printer. I think that whole thing just made me gun-shy despite running
Linux servers.
Seems like on a question like this a little more info might be useful such
as URLs that failed to print, type of printers, workstation OS, and browser
type and version.

Over the last few weeks, I have helped various patrons with a PCL XL
error message (on a printed sheet of paper) when they try to print
various web sites. The printer may or may not print the first page of a
web site, then it will print:

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: Illegal Operator Sequence
Operator: SetLineDash
Position: (a number that varies)
