Library Web Page Usability Studies Discussion
ALA Midwinter - Sunday 8am-11am, Grand Hyatt, Constitution A
Is your library's web page easy for patrons to use? Are you contemplating
doing a usability study of your web site? Have you done such a project and
do you have "war stories" you can tell?
Join LITA's Internet Resources Interest Group in a panel discussion on web
page usability studies projects. We will be discussing what is involved in
undertaking such a project. Using examples from actual usability studies,
panelists will address such areas as study design and implementation, legal
and political issues to be dealt with, administration of the
questionnaires, determining how to interpret results, and listing good
resources to help you begin doing such a study. The goal of this session is
to encourage a thorough and lively discussion, including both panelists and
audience members, of the entire process of web usability studies.
Panelists include:
Mary Axford, Georgia Tech
Susan McMullen, Roger Williams University
Stacy Voeller, Minnesota State University Moorehead
Stephen Westman, The Ohio State University
Hope to see you there!
