If you are running Windows2000, you'll find that you are not given the option
of only downloading the installation files for Internet Explorer 6. Instead,
it automatically installs IE 6on your machine. This is not optimal behavior
for those who need to deploy IE 6 on many workstations and across networks.
Also, it doesn't provide you the option of downloading the installation files
for IE 6 for other versions of the Windows OS.

In order to only download the IE 6 installation files and select the operating
systems that you want to use IE 6 on, run the the following from a
command-line or the Run box:

"Path\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"

where Path is the location of the ie6setup file which you will need to
download first from Microsoft. I downloaded this file to the following
directory:

C:\Windows Update Setup Files\

so I used the following:

"C:\Windows Update Setup Files\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"
