Setting Fonts in Netscape

Hello, everyone!
Can one of the HTML gurus out there tell me if there is a way to set a
base font in Netscape? I know this is not a wonderful idea, but the boss
wants everything in Arial, so I'm not left with much choice. I use
Wordpad or Front Page for editing, if it matters.

The problem is, as far as I can tell, Netscape requires a FONT tag in
every cell of a table (all TD tags). With IE, you can set a font face
with the BASEFONT tag, or at the beginning of each table (once) and it
keeps going until closed.

This is the first time I've ever found something IE did better than
Netscape, & I'd appreciate not having to go back & put font tags in all
over the place just so Netscape will show up properly, if I can avoid
it.
Web page is at www.billings.lib.mt.us & like all others is under
permanent construction.
Grateful for any help,
Lynne
