If you have old copies of Netscape floating about on your PCs or network,
your installations may go to those copies of the application, not the one
your using.

Have you checked your browser's About Plugins page to make sure that the
Plug-in is indeed loaded?  

Also, I've had to uninstall previous installations of Quicktime
before installing a new version.
