Hi, everyone!
Found a great site that has just the info I needed (and more than I ever
wanted to know about webmasters and web developers).  Thanks to the
National Association of Webmasters website (http://www.naw.org), I was
able to find a reference to a Webmaster Study done in 1995 and info on a
new one coming out. The reference gave the url for Collaborative Marketing
and from there I got to their sister site, Collaborative Research
(www.collaborative research.com) and found the Webmaster Studies for 1997
and 1998.

Thanks to everyone who responded so promptly to my query.
