Issue 6 of the ROADS (Resource Organisation And Discovery in Subject-based
Systems) newsletter is now out. ROADS is funded by JISC (Joint Information
Systems Committee) through the Electronic Libraries Programme.

The ROADS project provides software to underpin the creation, maintenance
and interoperability of subject, resource and institutional gateways. It
provides support and advice on resource description and classification
schemes, and provides a standard track for information gateways to follow.

The newsletter can be found from:

In this issue, there are update snippets from several currently active, or
forthcoming, subject gateways. BUBL describe their "browse engine"
service, while Charlotte Jenkins introduces her work on Tools for
Information Discovery on the Web. There is a brief look at a few of the
more interesting agriculture gateways, an update on UKOLN ROADS activities
and an update on the status of ROADS software.
