Directory Sites?

Sure about that?

"index.html" (which is not the same as index.htm) is only the default file
name for a directory on some servers.  Well, lots actually, enough to raise
this kind of confusion.  But Jennifer's server is WebSTAR 2.0, which uses
"Default.html" as its default file.   Jennifer did in fact have to change a
thing, namely WebSTAR's default file name, to index.htm (which, she tells me
off-list, she successfully did).
