PURPOSE
-------

The IFLA-L mailing list is an Internet mailing list that
distributes information about IFLA services and
activities to its membership and interested individuals
worldwide. IFLA-L also offers a forum for the
submission of items of general interest to the international
library community. The goals of the IFLA-L mailing list are:

  to aid in the distribution of IFLA related information and
  publications;

  to facilitate sharing of information on matters of
  international interest to librarianship;

  to promote the continuing education of library personnel;

  to develop, maintain and promote guidelines for library
  services.


AUDIENCE
--------
We encourage individuals and organizations from around
the world who are IFLA members or who are interested in
IFLA activities to participate.

ADMINISTRATION
--------------

IFLA-L is hosted at the National Library of Canada and
managed by IFLANET. Anyone may send messages to the
list, however IFLA-L is a moderated list and extraneous
(misdirected or error) or inappropriate messages (spam
messages) will not be forwarded. To contact the IFLANET
Administration, please send a message to:

    ifla at nlc-bnc.ca

ARCHIVE
-------

The IFLA-L archive is browseable from August 1995 to
the present and is updated automatically.
