We run a networked HP4ML via an Intel print server on a Novell file
server. It works fine most of the time unless people send large
graphics files to it.

Have you tried using the Novell utility PCONSOLE to see if the jobs
are going into the print queue, and if so what their status is. This
utility can also be used to delete jobs from the queue.
