Yesterday I mentioned Snappy as an alternative to purchasing digital
cameras. Lots of "where can I get more information about Snappy?"
questions. Here's a quick summary to the list, in lieu of lots of
private answers.

One can easily find information on this kind of tech product on the Web
itself. For a no-brainer quick&diry search, I used Alta Vista for
"snappy grabber vcr video". Quick results, here follows some extracts...

Snappy is a Minolta product, lots of display advertisements in current
microcomputer magazines, check 'em out yourself. Cyberstreet prices are
going from about $180-$200.

First, a subjective demo of Snappy output to look at. Go to
<http://jb.com/~carla/snappy.htm> to see "~carla's" VCR frame grab
capture of her grandaughter "gumming the life out of a tomato." Cute.
The link to the image is at the bottom of her page describing the
product.

Try <http://www.cybermal.com/snappy/snappy2.htm> The CyberMall vendor
site, offering it at $190 plus S&H. VERY informative page, with good
description of software included in the package, summary of review
quotes, applications, ideas, etc.
Also look at <http://www.cybermal.com/snappy/snappy1.htm> for their
sales info.

Bring Stunning Images From Video Into Your PC
It's Easy! No screwdriver, no slots ... just plug Snappy into the
printer connector on the back of any PC or laptop. Then connect your
camcorder, VCR, or TV tuner to Snappy with the included cable. When you
see a picture you want, click SNAP and in 1/60th of a second Snappy
freezes the video. Moments later you'll have the highest quality video
still you've ever seen on a computer. Just click SAVE to use it in a
presentation, store it in a database, illustrate a school report, spruce
up a letter, share it via modem, or use it in any graphics program.
Snappy captures 16.8 million vibrant colors with razor sharpness. To
achieve this breakthrough in image quality, the world's first High
Definition video capture chip was invented. This revolutionary new chip
lets Snappy create perfect video stills at record-breaking resolutions
up to 1500 x 1125. It's the highest resolution video capture device ever
created for any computer at any price. Yet it's so simple anyone can
