Need indexing engine & counter

Our internal web is running under Windows NT, using Netscape 1.2
communication server software, with both a Digital Alpha box and an Intel
box for hardware. We are looking for an indexing engine that will run under
this configuration, as well as a counter. 

We have tried the WAIS toolkit (index engine) that comes with the Windows NT
resource kit, but find it has some limitations.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
