We are using Gefen Digital Signage appliances. They connect to a monitor and you can access them across the network or the Internet to upload content. You can centrally manage them via the provided Signage Manager Express software. The software is very simple to use for just showing slide shows as you describe. They also have a wi-fi model if you want to put a display somewhere there is power but not a network connection. In addition to promotional displays we use one at our front door as a digital Open/Closed sign which we can access and change from home in the event of a weather closing. I believe they cost between $220 and $450 depending on the model you choose.

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Library Digital Signage Displays - Networking

Hi,

I would like to improve the way we are handling our Digital Signage Displays.
Currently we are using PowerPoint slides, changing them to JPEG, then loading them on the display via USB. We have six locations with flat screens at each.

We would like to network our signage to make things easier. Does anyone using Digital Signage use software or a service to coordinate slideshows via the Internet? We are hoping for something that would be low cost, accessible, and relatively easy for staff to use without a lot of training?

Thank you,

Dana Vinke
