Widgets in WordPress

Do you currently have a WordPress site to which you have added vendor search widgets such as those for EBSCO EDS, Gale, ProQuest, etc.? If so, what needs to be done in WordPress in order for the search widgets to work, i.e., enable JavaScript as a WP admin?

I'm currently recreating our library website within the confines of the campus WordPress CMS, so I am not a administrator of the site-I can create pages and add content, basically-but cannot change site settings. If I add widget code, even as source code, it does not function in the WordPress published page, although embedded video does, at least. I believe all the widgets we use on our current website are coded in JavaScript. I probably need to contact the WordPress administrator and ask for JavaScript to be enabled.

Thank you for any advice offered.
