Another software to try for batch conversion is IrfanView. It's free to schools, libraries, and home users.

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Batch conversion of TIFF to JPG and GIF files

We have a project that will require us to batch convert a few thousand TIFF files to JPEG and GIF file formats. Is there any way to do this as a batch job so we do not have to do each file individually?
