*Work Schedule: *Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, exempt
classification.

*Essential Functions: *Under the general supervision of the Associate
University Librarian, the

Library Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, support, and
ongoing

maintenance of library technologies for the integrated library systems (ILS)
at California State

University, Los Angeles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
management and

administration of all aspects of the ILS; advises the University Librarian;
collaborates with the

Library Information Technology Consultant, Library Web Administrator,
Electronic Resources

Coordinator in long-term library technology strategic planning and
implementation of

specialized library applications such as discovery layer technology, web
applications and digital

initiatives; provides user support and performs assessment, research, and
troubleshooting to

resolve ILS related issues; provides vision and leadership in the
investigation and

implementation of new and emerging technologies; and performs other related
duties as

assigned.

*Required Qualifications & Experience: *Bachelor’s degree in Information
Science or a related

field from an accredited four year college or university, and three to five
years of experience in

the administration and support of integrated library systems, applications
and technologies.

Incumbent must possess: administrator level knowledge and experience with
the Innovative

Interfaces Millennium system and/or similar integrated library systems;
excellent customer

service skills; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication
skills; demonstrated

ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with colleagues;
ability to adapt well

to change and be flexible; and ability and/or interest in working in a
multicultural/multiethnic

environment.

*Special Desired Qualifications: *Have familiarity of metadata standards
including MARC and

Dublin Core. Knowledge of library technology protocols such as OpenURL and
Z39.50.

Documented experience in UNIX, Solaris, Linux and Windows operating systems.
Knowledge

of a broad range of library functional areas and how they are supported by
the ILS. Knowledge

of and skills in library web coding, scripting languages, and open source
content management

systems such as Drupal, Joomba, Wordpress, HTML, XML, CSS, PHP, Java Script,
and SQL.

Expereince with PeopleSoft (human resources management system), OCLC ILLiad
(resource

sharing management software), eReserves, and library digitization projects.
Knowledge of

database architecture such as Access. Demonstrated experience in training
library personnel in

the use of Millennium or similar ILS.
