Online Storage

Kate,

We are currently evaluating storage strategies as well. We are not actively promoting Google Docs, DropBox, Evernote, etc. but we are noticing that students are using these cloud solutions on their own at a quickly escalating pace. We currently provide access to students' personal storage (provided by Tufts – Network attached storage array) accessible through VPN.

Best regards,

Thom

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Online Storage

I work in an academic library and we recently added computers with a "thaw space." We haven't had any problems yet with patrons forgetting to save information that we know of, but I was wondering if any libraries promote patrons to use online storage, such as Google docs or Drop Box. If so, do your patrons seem to find these suggestions helpful?

Thank you for your help,
