Library Web Apps and Mobile Apps

Hi,
In full disclosure, I am the CEO of Boopsie. We have hundreds of libraries
that have used our system to mobilize not only their catalogs, but also add
other reference material, special collections, library locations, hours and
events - amongst other things. The process is very simple and does not
require technical resources on the library's behalf other than perhaps a
MARC record extract to allow our Smart Prefix search. We create native
mobile applications for all smartphone platforms as well as generate a
mobile friendly html site. The key advantage to using a native mobile
applications is discoverability. A library patron will naturally go to the
App Store or Android Market to find their library's application. Then, the
branded logo of the library is always on the 'desktop' of the phone and
easy for a patron to locate. We also have direct access into OverDrive
content as well as other epub providers - which is extremely efficient

Also, an advantage of our architecture is that you can use our native
technology for the features that we cover (catalog, etc.) and you can
integrate any jQuery work you do within the application as well - so you
get the best of both worlds.

Some of our library customers are:

http://ccpl.boopsie.com Cuyahoga Public Library
http://spl.boopsie.com Seattle Public Library
http://mdx.boopsie.com Middlesex University
http://mylibrary.boopsie.com High Plains Library District
http://sccl.boopsie.com Santa Clara County Public
http://lobo.boopsie.com University of New Mexico

Feel free to email library at boopsie.com for further questions.

Thanks!

Greg
