Our mobile application has been live for about a month now. We contracted with Boopsie Inc. to create it for delivery of all major online functions. It took about 3 months from start to finish - much of the work on our end was writing the material that would eventually be seen in the app stores. The hardest part (for them) was developing a course reserves channel. Even though they have worked with other Innovative Interfaces libraries, they had never been asked to handle course reserves before NYLS. You can see a working preview at http://www.bit.ly/mendikmobile, or, if you go to that address on a mobile device you will be automatically sent to the appropriate app store. If you point your mobile device to http://lawlib.nyls.edu , you will be automatically redirected to the mobile site. The initial usage counts looked good, and the students seem very enthusiastic. As far as we can tell, we are the first law school library to create a full service application found in the major marketplaces.
