Hi Everyone

We are a small public library in Australia in a town called Ayr which is located 1 hour south of Townsville.

Our Library management system is Symphony version 3.4.

We use an add on product called Librarything for libraries which gives us book covers and more. The LibraryThing team developed a further add on called LibraryAnywhere

LibraryAnywhere allows the catalogue to be used on mobile phones and Tablets such as the iPad. It allows users to search for books reserve items and renew items from their mobile phone or tablet.

to see what we do go to http://library.burdekin.qld.gov.au

There is a link part way down the page that you type into a browser on your phone and it will load our catalogue and you can explore.

This is I suspect an examp,le of what you may be looking for.

If I can help further please post questions here and I will do my best to answer it for you.

kind regards

John

Manager, Library Services
Burdekin Shire Council

Dear Michael and Precious,
I am in awe and very much speechless. First of all, I am from
the beautiful islands of Palau, which is among the Micronesian Islands
as well. I work at an Academic library in Palau, which is housed at
the Palau Community College. The only college in Palau. I read your
postings and was very much interested in Mobile Libs. I'm not sure
what it is though, but we are in the process of starting or
introducing some sort of a Mobile Library as in a Van or Bus.Is it the
same thing??? We are trying to establish one so that we can serve
other states or villages in Palau that does not have access to the
internet or that has scarce services to the internet or library at
all. I would much appreciate if you would offer any suggestions or
advice since you guys are way ahead of us in terms of technology and
services. Your help would mean so much to us, as we are striving to
keep up with the rest of the world.... Thank You..... Regards and
Blessings from the beautiful Island of Palau.
