TITLE:                       Web Developer (Professional Services Specialist 3, Computer Services)

LOCATION:             Library Services (Campbell Library)

SALARY:                    P21 - $50,142.28 to $70,988.77

A job opportunity exists for the above title.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Library Systems the incumbent will develop and maintain systems and technology applications to support the delivery of resources and services within a growing academic library.

Major Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


*         Support of library website utilizing the Drupal content management system

*         Support and development of a web services application programming interface (API) to support future library development projects, e.g. mobile web/apps

*         Ad Hoc Reporting from the Library Information System utilizing Oracle SQL

*         Utilizing source code management to maintain software releases

*         Completion of self-study, classroom training, and/or working with other applications staff to improve personal and unit specific technical skills

*         Other duties as assigned by Lead, systems department or library administration

Experience Requirement:

*         Bachelor's Degree, preferably computer science, information systems, or related

*         Two years of related professional experience

*         Demonstrable skills in web application development and database design

*         Proficiency in PHP, Perl, Python, PL/SQL, MySQL, Javascript

*         Knowledge or proficiency with jQuery

*         Knowledge or proficiency with Drupal

*         Knowledge or proficiency with Zend, CakePHP, or other MVC frameworks

*         Proficient in CSS and HTML

*         Experience in Linux/Unix systems environments, including shell scripting and automation using cron

*         Ability to stay up-to-date and learn new and emerging technologies and tools

*         Excellent oral and written communication skills

*         Ability and willingness to work as part of a team, but also be a self-starter and self-directed

*         Ability to multitask and perform with high productivity

*         Strong organizational skills

Preferred

*         Knowledge of library metadata standards such as MARC, METS, MODS, and Dublin Core

*         Experience with managing applications in a Apache Tomcat application server environment

*         Knowledge or applied experience with Apache Solr

*         Mobile web development and design

*         Mobile application development
