Locally hosted streaming media question

At my work, we're using a product called ClickView [
http://www.clickview.com.au ] but mainly because of the video libraries
that they offer. Personally, for what you have in mind, I'd be conservative
and go with something with a good user community, and solid support
offerings (even if they're a listserv for a FOSS project).
Commercial offerings are fine, but make sure that the company is well
established - FOSS projects are not the only offering which can have
problems with support!
