[Web4lib] Google Book Search and interlibrary loan practice?

The Kindle now supports PDF, so getting a PDF converted is no longer an issue. See
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200324680
My Sony Reader and many other e-readers of course have long supported PDFs, though the readers with smaller screens can really only handle those that are text-based. Plus Google now also provides downloads in the ePub format, and programs like Calibre or Savory (which actually runs on the Kindle) can convert both PDF and ePub to the MOBI format which will work on Kindle.

And then someday there's the iPad and the many iPad clones now under development.

I agree with Robert's question/ point--Google books in pdf are great for
lookups or chapter reading,
but are users actually satisfied with a 200-page or longer pdf when they
request a book?

I have enjoyed reading a full novel on the newer version of the Kindle,
but still
tend the think most library users don't have a Kindle and those that do
would rather
not pay Amazon to convert a pdf file.
