[Web4lib] Mobenzi > Mobile-Phone-Based Empowerment

I receive the posts leading back to the blog sites on three separate
lists, which no doubt makes it seem like they are more frequent than
they really are. So that's not really a problem.

Sometimes the messages interest me, more often they do not. But that
just reflects my particular interests; there are other announcements and
threads that don't interest me, either. So that's not really a problem.

The list is notified whenever the blogger starts a new blog. The list
members are also asked to provide information to help the blogger with
his research, articles, conference presentations, etc., but that's not
really a problem.

The blogger announces his presentations to the list. That's annoying.
I'm sure many members of the list publish and present. The list owner
no doubt is in high demand for conferences, but he doesn't advertise all
his speaking engagements. (I'll guess that the blogger credits all the
help he receives from list members in his articles and presentations,
but I haven't read or seen any of them.)

The blogger links back to his blog in his messages to the list. That's
a problem for me. If he has written something of interest and mentions
the source, I want to go to the source. I don't want to have to go
through the blog posting, which is essentially the same as the message
to the list, to find the link to the original source. Since the blogger
has the link to the source in his blog, he could include it on his
messages to the list. Since he doesn't, I tend to agree that his
messages are self-promoting.

If the blogger's list messages were considerably shorter, with a line
that said "For more information, see [his appropriate bog] or The
Original Source [link to the source]", that would considerably lessen
the problems.

We all thave he option of blocking any individual, but your statements
are
not correct

1] I am an active contributor but >>> I do not post every hour nor every
day

Check The Web4Lib Archives

2] My postings are not self-promotion; On the contrary > My postings
highlight the work of others ...

3] The root source of my postings (i.e., my blog entries) is as valid
source
as any

4] While one might expect that a posting to an e-list might generate
discussion, a majority of my psotings are informational > Use or Delete
Or
???

5] This Is The 21st Century

Withh All Due Respect !
