ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
Faculty Position
Reference Librarian

Valdosta State University
1500 North Patterson Street – Valdosta, GA 31698

Applications and nominations are invited for a twelve-month, tenure 
track position at the rank of Instructor of Library Science. 
Responsibilities include general reference service, bibliographic 
instruction, and coordination of electronic resources. Some evening and 
weekend work required. For more information about the Library visit

Applicants are required to have an ALA-accredited or Georgia Board of 
Regents approved MLIS degree, public service experience, and excellent 
interpersonal skills. It is desirable for the applicant to show evidence 
of team participation in a work setting and experience using 
instructional technologies and electronic resources.

Valdosta State University is a doctoral granting regional university, 
recognized as a technology leader, in the University System of Georgia. 
We enjoy a temperate climate and Southern hospitality. Valdosta is 
served by a regional airport and is within a two-hour drive of 
Jacksonville and Tallahassee, Florida. The student body numbers about

until appointment is made. We expect to fill the position by February 1, 
2010, but a later date may be negotiated by the successful candidate.

Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience.
