AM-Deadlink http://www.aignes.com/deadlink.htm does a pretty good job.
It works for the "big three" browsers - IE, Firefox, and Opera - plus
Mozilla, Netscape, and both tab-delimited and comma separated text
files. AM-DeadLink is freeware. According to the site, it works with
Win9x/Me/NT4/2000/2003/XP/Vista; I've only used it with XP. It's
updated fairly regularly (last update was Feb. 27/08). A very useful
little tool.
