I've used 1 and 1 in the past, as well as hostgator.
Both are fine, but I find hostgator superior in service.
We host our library sandbox there- ulsandbox.org.
I have used the 'chat' option several times during setup- and I talk with a live person!

Subject: [Web4lib] Buying a Domain
Hello Everyone:
I am looking into purchasing a domain for one of our blogs, and I was
wondering if anyone had any experience doing the same for themselves or
their library? There appear to be a lot of hosting/domain sites out there
and am just looking for something simple and cheap.
Thanks,
Joanna
