Preferred Qualifications
------------------------
* Skills/experience developing and coding interactive web
applications using ColdFusion, ASP, PHP, PERL, HTML, XML,
SQL, DHTML, Javascript, CSS and/or other common tools .
* Skills/experience writing SQL queries to connect to Oracle,
MYSQL, MSSQL and/or other databases.
* Proficiency with developing and maintaining database-driven
Web applications
* In depth knowledge of Website design, development, and
implementation
* Knowledge of acceptable Web user authentication methodologies
and techniques
* Able to integrate Web 2.0 services to ensure the seamless
delivery of online library resources.
* Proficiency analyzing, documenting, and coding business
process requirements for Web applications.
* Proven ability to work with external vendors in integrating
commercial-off-the-shelf products into the City of Austin's
web architecture.
* Experience programming, developing, and maintaining Websites
within/utilizing a Content Management System environment
* Outstanding customer service skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent technical writing skills.
* Proficiency with/knowledge of effective Web accessibility
and compliance including ADA Section 508 and the W3C Web
Accessibility initiative.
