I just tried Zamzar on a PDF to doc.
The text came out like this:
_,0__-ffi_fi1________2_ ____ 3-fi_ffi 0fi_4_fi__56_
721,_fi,_-,fi46__8_,-ff._9-fi _

On their blog they say they are now offering conversions of the we're proud
to announce support for online conversion of the Microsoft Office 2007 DOCX
format.
