*Falvey Memorial Library at Villanova University has the following 
position opening: *

*Web Interface and Design Specialist*
**
This position reports to the Technology Management Team.  This person 
will be responsible for design, structure, usability analysis of the 
library Web environment, including support for the activities of the 
Library Web teams and will contribute design support for online and 
print materials for library programming and exhibits as well as support 
interface design and development for the Villanova Digital Library.

Requirements include:  Bachelor's degree in a design-related field, with 
additional training or work experience in Web site development or a 
related technical field; one year of work or internship experience in a 
production-oriented Web design environment; ability to translate 
technical topics into common language for users and professional 
colleagues; excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication 
skills; ability to develop a consensus among a diverse group of 
professional peers around complicated issues; ability to present a 
diverse design portfolio demonstrating Web and print oriented techniques 
and approaches.

Technical and professional skills should include: HTML editing (hand 
coded and via common editing applications such as DreamWeaver and 
FrontPage); Web style sheets (CSS); Javascript; image editing with tools 
such as Photoshop and Illustrator; knowledge of Web interface design 
principles; the ability to understand and implement in a Web setting the 
basic principles of information archtiecture and Human-Computer Interaction
