[Web4lib] U3 Thumb Drives

Dear List,

We are seeing many patrons wanting to use their flash drives with U3
technology in them on library workstations. U3 actually allows software
to be run off of the flash drive itself. So far, the students seem to be
purchasing these unaware that they are different from a conventional
thumb drive since they virtually look the same. U3 requires that their
"Launch pad" be installed before files etc can be pulled over to the
host computer desktop.

Has anyone dealt with these or come up with a policy?

Thanks, Mark
