The ACRL Instruction Section is currently accepting applications for IS Web Site Co-Administrators for the 2007-2009 term. Applications will be considered from individuals interested in co-administering the IS Web Site.

ACRL IS Web Site Co-Administrators

Position Description:

Co-Administrators serve a two-year term (2007-2009) and are responsible for developing and maintaining the IS Web site under the direction of the IS Executive Committee, in consultation with the IS Advisory Council and the IS Communication Committee. The IS Web site provides access to information about the Section's structure, committees, meetings, programs, awards, news, projects, and activities, as well as electronic versions of key Section publications.  The IS Web Site Co-Administrator(s) are members of the Communication Committee and non-voting, ex-officio members of the IS Advisory Council

Following the conclusion of the term of appointment, the IS Web Site Co-Administrators are expected to serve as a resource for their successors.

Web administration responsibilities include:

* Updating the Section Web site immediately before and after each conference.
* Providing support and advice to IS committees working on new Web pages and projects.
* Acquiring and uploading information from IS committees.
* Coordinating activities, deadlines, and dissemination of information with the IS Newsletter Editor and IS Executive Committee.
* Organizing and formatting information on the Section Web site to conform to the current approved style.
* Reviewing the site for possible content and design revisions.
* Proposing new guidelines and policies relating to the IS Web site to assist IS committees in understanding the processes related to posting new information and maintaining current information on the site.
* Representing the IS Section on the ACRL Web Task Force or other ALA or ACRL-sponsored, Web-related working groups as needed.
* Archiving portions of the Section Web site according to IS guidelines.
* Participating in training required for the maintenance of the ACRL IS Web site.

Qualifications:

* Membership in the ACRL Instruction Section.
* Demonstrated competency in HTML authoring and Web site maintenance.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively by e-mail.

Appointment and term:

IS Web Site Co-Administrators are volunteers who serve a two-year term, upon selection by the Executive Committee and appointment by the Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect. The IS Communication Committee will call for applications before the Midwinter Conference and make a recommendation for filling the position to the IS Executive Committee after the Midwinter Conference. The appointment begins immediately after the ALA Annual Conference that year. IS Web Site Co-Administrators must attend Communication Committee and Advisory Council meetings at ALA Annual and Midwinter conferences.
