“Change Your World @ Your Library” E-card – Libraries Matter

Alliance Library System and Tumblebooks are pleased to announce an exciting promotional effort libraries can use for National Library Week April 2-8, 2006. National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers to their schools, campuses and communities. Librarians, staff, board members, and community members can send a free digital e-card with an animated story.

The theme of the digital e-card and story is “Change Your World @ Your Library – Libraries Matter.” The story is told in rhyming verse of a young girl who shows her family and neighbors how important the library is to them and their community. The project is the latest in a series of initiatives from the Alliance Library System who, last year, introduced the Libraries Matter campaign (www.LibrariesMatter.com) to libraries across the world.

Libraries of all types are invited to place a colorful icon and link on their websites to the e-card so that patrons can send the card to friends and family too. To get the icon, link, and directions, go to the Libraries Matter website at
  http://www.librariesmatter.com
