REFERENCE LIBRARIAN/WEB SERVICES COORDINATOR:  The Georgetown University Library is seeking a Reference Librarian/Web Services Coordinator to support the teaching and research endeavors of the University community by providing reference services and coordinating the organization and content of the Georgetown University Library website. The Reference Librarian/Web Services Coordinator is responsible for the research services, information resources, content, organization, and design for the Library’s public website; identifies and recommends current and emerging technologies, web publication trends, and innovative applications for enhanced access to Library resources; and works in collaboration with staff from the Digital Services and Technology Planning division of the Library to manage, maintain and deliver effective and appropriate web applications and technologies.  The incumbent also actively participates in the Library’s website development group and the University GUide 
Committee, which maintains the main university website and provides leadership on web policy issues. The incumbent collaborates with all Library departments to develop the organization, content and usability of the web site. As a member of the Research and Instruction Services Department, the incumbent also provides reference and information services in the humanities, social sciences and business; interprets and analyzes information needs of students, faculty and other users of the Library; recommends and directs users to appropriate sources of information; teaches library research sessions in a wide range of subject areas; and creates bibliographic guides and other instructional materials as required.  Minimum Qualifications: MLS from ALA-accredited program or combination of equivalent degree and experience; minimum of one year experience providing reference services and instruction in an academic library environment, and significant experience with HTML authoring, editing/
site management software (e.g., Dreamweaver, etc.) and usability testing with demonstrated experience in the organization, design, and content of websites.  Demonstrated awareness of trends in the application of information technologies to library services. Proven ability to manage complex web sites and applications.  Demonstrated leadership and collaborative project management skills, especially the ability to lead diverse project teams to meet project goals and deadlines. Evidence of superior oral and written communication skills. Record of participation and/or contribution in library professional organizations. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with at least one foreign language.  Minimum-starting salary is $44,000.
