[Web4lib] class registration system

Hi,

I'm looking for a simple open source solution that allows users to
register to a class with fixed number of seats. It should be able to
handle things like sending mails to the successful registered users and
admins, along with an administrative interface to create/remove classes
and manage other relevant data. Preferably it should be on php-mysql.

Before writing it, I want to know if there is a product that does this.
Any pointers are much appreciated.
