TITLE: SYSTEMS ANALYST, Capital Area District Library
Exempt
Pay Grade: P3
Under the supervision of the Technology Director, this employee is the key technical expert on the library's automated library system, integrates third party software and hardware with existing systems, analyzes business processes and creates technological solutions, and performs other special projects as assigned.
Specific Duties
-Maintains expert knowledge of functional capabilities, configuration, and operation of the automated library system (Innovative Interfaces' Millennium). Closely coordinates with other staff to install upgrades, implement new modules or functionality, and troubleshoot technical issues.
-Integrates and maintains third party software and hardware that interfaces with the library's automated library system. Troubleshoots technical issues.
-Analyzes and evaluates workflows for all aspects of public and support services. Designs and implements technological solutions to improve quality and efficiency of workflows, including developing web applications, scripts, macros, and/or customized Microsoft Office applications, as well as evaluating and integrating third party technology solutions.
-Provides documentation, training and support for library staff.
-As part of the Information Technology team, suggests, plans, and implements projects to continually improve the technology environment at CADL. Fills in for other Information Technology team members when needed.
-Other duties as assigned.

Employment Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in a related field or MLS with significant technical experience. Pertinent certifications desirable.
-Two years experience analyzing business processes and creating technological solutions.
-Two years experience managing projects from inception to completion, including writing functional and technical specifications and supporting documentation.
-Experience administering an automated library system desirable.
-Facility with Internet and Windows scripting and programming languages, such as VBScript, VBA, .NET, JavaScript, Python, Perl.
-Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and researching complex computer problems.
-An understanding of and an interest in the mission of public libraries.
-Successful completion of one-year probationary period.
-Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
