Looks like the LA Times wikitorial experiment was rather short-lived:

Interesting use of Wiki software. The LA Times plans to experiment with
what it calls "wikitorials", which will "allow readers to participate in
online discussions with the paper, and even 're-write' Los Angeles Times

Haven't seen much about it yet...just a mention in an article from
