Alma,

I tried to set up ezProxy using referrer variable and it did not work very well.  Some browsers drop the referrer variable in certain instances to preserve security.  It is also very easy to hack.

If you are looking to allow access to the databases directly from Blackboard without re-authenticating your users, EZProxy allows you to do this with referring URL authentication:
