Lehigh University's Library and Technology Services (LTS) seeks a team-
oriented individual to offer Web page development, Web authoring
instruction/consultation, and help desk service at a state-of-the-art
Information Commons. The successful candidate will possess library reference
skills, Web authoring and site management experience, exceptional teaching
skills, and the ability to assist users with a broad range of computing and
instructional technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provides general reference and technology assistance at the Information
Commons help desk, including evenings and weekend shift rotations
-Provides Web authoring and site management support and consultation for
faculty, staff, and students
-Develops Web-based services, tutorials, guides, and documentation; serves as
primary editor of the help desk knowledge base system
-Offers on-on-one and group instruction on library and Web-related topics
-Participates in planning a broad range of library and technology initiatives,
including promoting information literacy, integrating library resources in
online courses, developing campus portal content, and deploying innovative Web
services
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
-Master's degree from ALA-accredited library school and/or information science
program
-Experience in providing traditional and electronic reference services in a
library setting
-Demonstrated ability to design attractive and effective Web sites
-Knowledge of HTML practices, standards, and trends, as well as related skills
(e.g., CSS, Javascript)
-Expertise in using authoring and site management applications such as
Macromedia Dreamweaver and Contribute
-Ability to assist users with the broad spectrum of campus and Internet
resources
-Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in individual
and group settings
-Ability to do basic troubleshooting for Commons hardware and operating
systems
Desired:
-Experience developing dynamic, database-driven sites using Coldfusion, PHP,
Perl, or Java
-Experience in computing/technology support and/or technical certification
-Experience in formal classroom instruction

SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary range is $40,400 to $49,200; hiring salary based on education &
experience. Excellent benefits, including tuition remission and/or exchange
