[WEB4LIB] 1and1?

I signed up with 1and1 for a personal web site when they were offering 3
years of free hosting. They have a lot of features that others don't offer
(SSH, mysql, php5, C compiler). I've found their service and support to be
very good.
Our library is considering moving its commercially-hosted web site to an
in-house server because of problems with our email service. The SMTP server
for our domain is listed in some spammer databases because the owner of the
IP range leased to our host is considered to be a "spam supporter" for not
aggressively enforcing anti-spam policies. Guilt by association is a real
possibility.
I don't know if this would be an issue with 1and1, but it might be something
to think about.

Subject: [WEB4LIB] 1and1?
Hello-
Our library is thinking of moving its website from a server in the building
to a web hosting service. Does anyone have first hand experience with 1and
1.com? Their prices look too good to be true! Any thoughts, comments,
anecdotes, and first hand experiences are welcome.
Thanks
