Nominations Sought for Alumni Achievement Award 

The Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually at Alumni Day to a GSLIS graduate who has demonstrated achievement in the library/information profession. 

The award winner will have demonstrated excellence in a way that exceeds the boundary of his or her current position by achieving influence in the generation of information professionals.

Influence may be categorized as:

-A highly visible or important position

-Service in organizations

-Publications in library/information media 

-Involvement in community, civic, social, or organizational activities that are relevant to extending library services beyond the institution

-Teaching/lecturing/mentoring/recruiting

-Professional association activity

-Service on governing or policy-making boards

-Leadership

-Commitment to Simmons College and the library profession

The award will recognize a professional who "makes a difference." The candidate is selected by the Achievement Award Committee, chaired by Millie Gonzalez '01LS.

Correspondence should include a detailed explanation on why you believe this person should be nominated as well as any supporting documentation. Nominees must be a Simmons graduate.
