Are you innovative?
Do you know someone that has shown great innovation in the
information profession?
Have you delivered great value to your organization by
implementing an innovative solution to an information need?
The SLA Innovations in Technology Award, part of the Awards and Honors
Program, is an award focused on the innovative use and application of
technology in a special library setting. Deadline is January 6, 2005.
There is a $1,000 cash award to an individual who has made innovative
use of technology and shown strategic impact to their organization. The
cash award this year is donated by LexisNexis and will be
awarded at the SLA Annual Conference in Toronto by the current
President, Ethel Salonen.

CRITERIA: The award recipient's contribution to their organization,
through the innovative use of technology, could include digital library
efforts, content delivery, search and discovery, new devices for
delivering content, wireless delivery, RFID, content integration
methods, virtual reference, expertise locators, collaboration projects,
peer to peer efforts, language translation, portals, knowledge sharing
and management, content development and management, digital rights
management, etc. SLA member must be in good standing. More on criteria:

NOMINATIONS: The award recipient is selected through a review of
written nominations. Nominations must clearly state the contributions
of the nominee in an area of innovative use of technology to deliver
services that impact their organization. Self-nominations are accepted.
Deadline date is January 6, 2005.
