Lane Community College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Systems Librarian to contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of library services by overseeing and coordinating the planning, design, development, integration, implementation, and maintenance of the library's web presence and integrated library system. This is a faculty position, with a 178-day academic contract. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and oversee long-range plan for the library's automated systems, hardware, and software.

Provide technical oversight of the library's web site, including online catalog and databases. 

Ensure efficient and effective use of the integrated library system through technical support, problem solving, and staff training. 	

Collaborate with other College departments on digital initiatives and projects that impact library operations, in collaboration with technical staff at the department, College, and state-wide levels. 

Collaborate with librarians and library staff in investigating leading-edge technologies, testing new software, and recommending and implementing appropriate systems in support of library services.

Participate in collection development and academic liaison activities. 

OTHER FUNCTIONS: 
Serve on Lane Community College Web Steering Committee.

Provide reference and instruction. 

Serve as liaison to the College's information technology departments.
	
Participate in activities that further the College's mission and goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited program, or foreign equivalent, is required.

Experience: Two (2) years of recent, concentrated, hands-on, progressively responsible experience in automated integrated library systems and information technology required.   One (1) year recent experience in web site management, including web programming and scripting languages, is required.  Recent experience with Innovative Interfaces library systems strongly preferred.  Recent experience in an academic library preferred.  Recent experience with collection development is preferred.  Recent experience in library reference is preferred. Recent experience in library instruction is preferred.  Experience working with diverse populations preferred.  Bilingual ability preferred.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $36,062 - $48,869 per academic year.
