VisitTimeout in Webalizer tool

One feature of Webalizer log analysis tool is the VisitTimeout. This is the
(configurable) amount of idle time between requests from the same IP after
which a new "Visit" is counted. The default is 30 minutes.

Do those of you who use Webalizer accept this default, or do you use a
different timeout period? How did you settle on a timeout period? Did you
base the decision on research?

I'm asking because I would like some justification for my own choice of a
timeout period.
